Guidelines for Presenters

1. Presenters must be members of MAAC for 2008.

        (For multiple authors, identify the presenter and list the presenter as the first author)

2. Registration fees and membership dues are due on December 31, 2007.  

3. An individual can be the primary author on only one paper.

4. Persons with unexcused absences from the 2007 meeting will be prohibited from presenting papers at the 2008 conference.  An unexcused absence is defined as an absence without prior notification from a  person who agreed to present a paper.

Papers

Individuals or groups wishing to make a presentation must submit paper, poster and/or symposium abstracts to the program chair by December 31, 2007.  MEMBERSHIP DUES and REGISTRATION FEES ARE DUE NOT LATER THAN DECEMBER 31, 2007 AS WELL.  MAAC dues are $30.00 ($25.00 with student ID); registration fee is $40.00 pre-registration or $45.00 at the door. Failure to submit dues and fees by the deadline will result in the disqualification of the abstract.  Please contact Faye Stocum if you need information about membership status.  

Make checks payable to "MAAC" in US Funds.  MEMBERSHIP FEES are sent to Faye Stocum, MAAC Membership Secretary; REGISTRATION FEES are sent to Liz Crowell, MAAC Program Chair.  (See Contact Information, below; click here for a printable presenter's registration form.)

Abstracts are to be submitted to the Program Chairs in hard copy and on disk in Microsoft Word, or attached to an e-mail.  Abstract should be limited to 150 words and should include the paper title, the name(s), address(es), phone number(s), and e-mail address(es) of the paper presenter(s).  For organized symposia, the Program Chairs request Session Chairs to submit the symposium abstract and paper abstracts as a package.  Session Chairs should contact the Program Chair prior to the submission of a symposium abstract.  Session Chairs are also responsible for placing Power-Point papers on the session computers prior to the beginning of the session.

Posters: 

Space will be provided for persons choosing to share the findings of their research in poster form. Interested parties should submit an abstract and an estimate of the space needed for their display.  Please contact the local arrangements chairs for details and for information on fees.

Exhibits: 

The exhibit hall will be available to any person or organization that wishes to display and/or sell books or other products of interest to Middle Atlantic archaeologists.  Interested parties should contact the local arrangements chair for further details.  Please contact the local arrangements chairs for details and for information on fees.
