Anyone interested in the archaeology of the area from New York to Virginia, and from the Atlantic coast to West Virginia, is welcome. You do not have to be a member to register for the conference and hear about the latest of a wide variety of archaeological sites dating from the earliest Paleo-Indian sites to 20th-century sites, and of all site types, from small single-use Native American procurement sites and large village sites, to historic period urban, rural, industrial, diverse ethnic and immigrant sites, and underwater sites. Come join us!
NOTICE: Membership rates will increase beginning with the 2008 membership year! Click here to find out how much.....
CONFERENCE NOTES: We had a wonderful conference in early March! Planning for next year's conference is well under way, so check back often. We are adding a PayPal account for both registration and membership, to make it easier on our members.
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR AWARDS! Do you know someone who deserves an award for a Significant Contribution to the field of archaeology in this region? Or for Lifetime Achievement? Click here to find out how to submit that nomination to our awards committee.
We publish many of our papers in an annual Journal, part of the subscription benefits. See the Membership page for details on subscribing. We have a student paper competition each year, the winner of which gets his or her paper published in the Journal. Click here for our past winners and their paper titles. In 2008, a number of sponsors stepped forward to cover students' registration and membership fees so they could attend the conference. Click here for information on our generous sponsors.
Our MissionTo provide a yearly conference and a professional journal for archaeologists, both avocational and professional, working in the Middle Atlantic area: a place to meet, discuss problems and issues, present recent work, and socialize with our colleagues.
